Ceratronic Recherche
Cératronic Recherche aims to inform different fields of industry about an innovative surface treatment process applicable to light alloys. Oxidation of the surface of aluminium-alloy, magnesium and titanium parts is obtained using a process from Russia patented by Cératronic. "Micros arcs", its underlying principle, are developed in a water-based bath, thus avoiding all pollution. The originality of the process lies in the perfect mastery of the alternating currents applied during the process and in the possibility of varying the main process parameters during the treatment.
The most striking features of the "ceramic" coatings obtained are their exceptional adhesion qualities, combined with excellent corrosion resistance. Their hardness on aluminium alloy is ten times greater than that of the base alloy, for thickness values ranging from 20 to 250 microns. The coatings give excellent wear-resistance properties and provide high adhesion for organic films.
The presence of Cératronic Recherche in a technological platform such as Harmony is of great strategic importance for the company's future. Integrating the Harmony Economic Interest Group has given Cératronic Recherche's process increased credibility with potential customers and has made its wide range of uses better known.
Pooling new innovative processes that are often complementary also means providing new solutions to industrial requirements, while guaranteeing users reliability and longevity for the prodUCT Frances on offer. Cératonic Recherche find the unique concept of the Harmony platform attractive for several reasons: its approach to surface treatment, the people involved, the "mutualisation" of characterisation and analysis equipment and the aid to process optimisation.
Centralising on the same platform work involving skilled professionals gives a unique guarantee that a "start-up company" such as Cératronic Recherche could not offer their customers on its own.
